Sally Murray, CO, PG Dip Vision and Strabismus, BSc(Hons) Orthoptics
An orthoptist is an allied health professional who is specifically trained in the diagnosis and management of muscle movement disorders in adults and children. Through clinical evaluation and testing procedures an orthoptist helps ophthalmologists design an individual plan of treatment for each patient. If eye muscle surgery is required, it is the orthoptic measurements that dictate the surgical plan. Orthoptists also help in the care and management of children with amblyopia.
Sally is a British trained and American certified orthoptist, and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Vision and Strabismus in 2018.
She qualified from Liverpool University in 2008. Her first job was at the Singapore National Eye Centre where she stayed for 2 and a half years before obtaining her American orthoptic certification in August 2010. In August 2011, she moved to Portland and joined the Child Eye Care Associates family.
Her favorite part of the job is taking a scared child and making them smile, giggle and leave wanting to be an eye doctor! This followed closely by a happy adult who arrives with constant double vision and leaves with just one image of everything.

Anita was born and raised in Colorado, only later moving to Oregon in 2017 to pursue her dreams in the optical world. She previously worked as an optician for four years, prior to becoming a COT. Ever since secondary education, she knew she had a passion for children and helping those in need.
On her spare time, Anita enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her family and friends. Although quite some ways from her hometown, she makes sure to not miss a thing when it comes to her nieces' and nephew's growth (even if it means video chatting just to be a part of a group photo).
Debra joined CECA in Summer 2020 during quarantine. Her background is in contact lenses, front office,
and anything related to optical services and laboratories. She was thrilled to join a pediatrics clinic as she has volunteered with children ages 5-18 for 20 years in many churches she has attended.
Debra and her husband of 30 years have one grown and married daughter and two teenagers. December 2019 brought her first grandchild who is now her favorite human on the planet. In her free time she enjoys hiking and nature, walking and kayak/paddleboarding and spreading joy and positivity to people.
Gardening, plants and flowers are vital to Debra and she is also a rock hound. Come visit the treasures
on her desk.
